Zhang Chu was born in 1974 in Hebei Province, China. His most notable works include Qi gen kongque yumao 七根孔雀羽毛 (Seven Peacock Feathers ) and Good Night (Liangxiao 良宵). He has received several major literary awards, including the Lu Xun Literary Prize, the Da Hong Ying Award from Zhongguo Zuojia magazine, the People’s Literature Short Story Award, the Lin Jinlan Short Story Award, and the Shiyue magazine Chinese Young Writers Award. In 2011, he was selected for the “Future Literary Masters Top 20” list.
Zhang Chu’s short story “Le graffette” (qubiezhen 曲别针, lit. Paper Clip) was published in Caratteri (Città, 2017, pp. 54–65).
