I studied Chinese literature at Waseda University, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in 2002, my Master’s degree in 2004, and finally my doctorate.
Between 2005 and 2008 I attended an advanced training course at the East China Normal University of Shanghai (Shanghai huadong shifan daxue) and between 2008 and 2010 I received a fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS, Doctoral Course-DC2).
Since 2010 I have been working for the Literature Department of Kansai University, where I began as a postdoc researcher and I currently hold a chair in Asian Cultures (Chinese language and culture).
My research interests cover, among others, popular literature (tongsu wenxue 通俗文学) in modern China (mystery and martial arts novel), contemporary science fiction and web-novel.
Among my translations (from Chinese to Japanese):
Sun Liaohong, «Qiechi ji 竊齒記» (A history of teeth stealing), in the collection Chūgoku gendai bungaku kessaku serekushon (中国現代文学傑作セレクション The Masterpieces of Modern Chinese Literature), 2018.
